How Modern-Art-Gonzo-Journalism Exposed Confusion Tainting Public Trust In Fake News Headlines.

The revamped version of “Redemption: The Story of The Crackhead Jesus Trials” © will premiere soon, following the Letter to the Editor sent by the Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. to the USA Today Network, regarding a fake news headline substituting a factual news title, for an article by Lisa Conley.

The original version of the Crackhead Jesus saga, premiered to sold out crowds, at an interactive event, during Miami Art Basel Week in 2007.

The once censored story, about the birth of modern-art-gonzo-journalism in America, was inspired by Florida Court Case #50-2006-CC-016579, dubbed, “The Crackhead Jesus Trials”, by media outlets.

The contentious title character, Crackhead Jesus, whose name has slowly creeped into the vernacular as urban slang, meaning; hypocrite, scoundrel or devil, has been mentioned, uncensored, in several mainstream media news outlets, including: The Miami New Times, Suffolk Times, The Happy Herald, South Florida Gay News and on FOX News, with Megyn Kelly, as well as with subtle censorship, by the USA Today Network and The Palm Beach Post.

Victor Hugo Vaca Jr Palm Beach Post

The Palm Beach Post – Subtle Censorship.

On March 13, 2017, the following letter to the editor was sent to the USA Today Network editors:

To Whom It May Concern,

Subtle censorship is a slippery slope, filled with false narratives that create fake news and collapse public trust in news media outlets. On March 1, 2017, the USA Today Network published an article by Lisa Conley on the worldwide web titled, “Artist Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. paints ‘diary of the world on canvas‘”.

The popular article was quickly picked up by several news outlets including The Tennessean, The Naples News and The Marco Eagle. Kudo’s to Conley for succinctly communicating the concept of the Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM) and modern-art-gonzo-journalism for readers.

As Conley’s article gained audience, the real news headline was abruptly changed to a fake news headline:Marco Visitor Vaca Paints To Create ‘Diary Of World On Canvas’”.

The truth is, my stage name, when performing in public with the Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM), is the “Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo”, whether raising money for charities and scholarships in Marco Island or awareness about rarely covered social issues in venues across the United States

The editorial decision to change the true title to a fake news headline is concerning and of interest to the public trust because, if anything I was in Marco working to raise awareness about dubious newspaper headlines while raising money for educating future competent investigative journalists, like Conley, not visiting or vacationing, as the title implies

It is curious, to say the least, that the USA Today Network would choose to bury a story about modern-art-gonzo-journalism, by purposefully changing the title to mislead algorithms and search engines, at the height of public interest. USA Today editors, using archaic, truth-defying-standards, appear to rationalize the perpetuation of false narratives, through misleading headlines, as a way of dumbing down the public. It is no wonder that smart readers have fled, in hordes, from subscribing to the poetic-misinformation peddled by newspapers as fact.

Rather than informing, the substituted headline, serves to confuse readers and fans, none of which know me as Vaca, with a nonsensical caption that buries the popular story on the internet; thus, depriving students researching emerging art forms and art movements of cultural significance in human history, during revolutionary times of change.

The headline presumes rather than informs and assumes that public trust in reporting is infallible. Furthermore, the substituted headline serves to fuel recent Gallup Polls that indicate waning public trust in mainstream news media because subscribers and readers are not as dumb as editors seem to think. If an educated consumer is your best customer, how can you expect to gain new subscribers if you continue to dumb down your audience with bogus headlines?

The question for USA Today editors who chose to burden Conley’s work with a fake news headline, five days after the real news headline premiered on the internet is: “Will the headline, ‘Willie Nelson at Artis-Naples’ eventually be changed to read, “Nelson Visits Naples” and will a performance by Lady Gaga, Sting or Cher in Marco Island receive the headlines, “Marco Visitor [Whatever Lady Gaga, Sting, or Cher’s Last Name Is] Sings Songs About Life”?

Respectfully,

Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr.

On March 14, 2017, editors at The USA Today Network changed the caption on Lisa Conley’s article once again. The third headline reads: “Marco visitor Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. puts ‘diary of the world on canvas'”.

The new fake news headline, which corrects the artists name, still falsely suggests to readers that Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr., while on vacation in Marco, decided to put a diary of the world on canvas. The new, misleading internet headline, suggests to readers, that if Lady Gaga, Sting, or Cher were to perform in Marco Island, the Naples News headline would read, Marco Visitor [Lady Gaga, Sting, Cher] Sings Songs About Life”.

It begs the question, “What was wrong with the original, honest headline, ‘Artist Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. creates a diary of the world on canvas’, that editors felt compelled to change the caption for readers, not once but twice?”

If USA Today Network editors wanted to include Marco Island in the caption, all they had to do to keep readers truthfully informed, rather than woefully misinformed, was add the words, “in Marco Island”, to the headline, so that it reads: “Artist Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. creates a diary of the world on canvas in Marco Island”. Instead, editor’s at the USA Today Network chose to confuse and dumb down audiences with misleading news headlines, again.

USA TODAY PUBLICATION USES SUBTLE CENSORSHIP TO SUPPRESS STORY WITH FAKE NEWS HEADLINE. How USA Today Editors Justify Feeding False Narrative To Global Online Audience.

On March 1, 2017 the USA Today Network published an article titled,Artist Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. creates ‘a diary of the world on canvas’”.  Five days later, boosting the decline of public trust in news media, as noted in a recent Gallup Poll, editors at a USA Today publication used subtle-censorship to openly corrupt a factual header, in favor of a glaringly fake-news headline, to downplay a unique story about modern-art-gonzo-journalism and the Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM). The trending internet article, by journalist Lisa Conley, about the curious career of the Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo, was printed in the Sunday March 5, 2017, Naples Daily Newspaper, under the headline, “Artist creates, ‘a diary of the world on canvas'”, after premiering globally on the USA Today Network, on the same day that Democratic Congressman, Cedric Richmond, uttered a crude, gang-rape, sex-joke about the Counselor to President Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway, at The Washington Press Club Foundation’s Annual Congressional Dinner.

“Between the famous name, the Naval Academy, “Crackhead Jesus” and Pink Floyd, Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr.’s story has everything.: The caption read, as the article quickly caught public interest and was picked up over the next five days by several mainstream media news outlets across America including: The Tennessean, The Naples Daily News and The Marco Eagle.

As Lisa Conley’s article gained readers and  momentum in shares, on social media networks, like Facebook and LinkedIn, the real news headline was abruptly changed, to a fake-news internet headline, by USA Today editors, without explanation.

USA Today Network: Subtle-censorship.

The nonsensical caption negatively impacts search algorithms and serves to stunt the stories reach. Students of art movements and human history, are left confused, rather than informed, when using Google, Bing and other information gathering resources on the internet, to research the United States Naval Academy trained, New York born, Hispanic, multi-media artist, Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr., who is better known by his stage name, Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo, when performing as part of the Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM), to raise money for charity and education scholarships, as well as elevate awareness about under-reported social issues, such as waning public trust in news media, at public events, like, Wet Paint Live, in Marco Island, Florida, as reported, in the USA Today Network article by Lisa Conley.

Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr. is listed in The Library Of Congress amongst some of the most influential artists in modern history, including The Beastie Boys, Shepard Fairey and The Wu Tang Clan, in the University/College reference book, by D.B. Burkeman, titled, “Stickers: From Punk Rock To Contemporary Art”. The Maverick Artist Victor-Hugo is known to no one in the entertainment industry or in his private life as, Vaca.

The headline “Marco visitor Vaca paints to create ‘diary of the world on canvas'” begs the questions: “If a USA Today journalist goes to Syria on assignment, would USA Today editors say the reporters are visiting or working to gather useful news and information for public consumption and if the artist Willie Nelson performs in Naples, will the Naples News headline read, “Nelson Visits Naples”?

The same week, USA Today Editors, corrupted truth with false narrative, a story headlined, “Willie Nelson at Artis-Naples” was published in The Naples Daily News. The Naples News editors, who inexplicably chose to burden Conley’s work with a fake news headline, were then asked: “Would the headline for a performance by Lady Gaga, Sting or Cher in Marco Island read;  “Marco Visitor [Whatever Lady Gaga, Sting, or Cher’s Last Name is] Sings Songs About Life”?

According to USA Today Network editors, when asked to provide an explanation for this betrayal of public trust and answer why they chose to surreptitiously alter a fact based headline in favor of heralding a grossly misleading caption as truth for subscribers, the following statement was provided:

“We used the phrase Marco visitor because we try to emphasize local angles in headlines to distinguish our local stories from all of the state, nation and world stories available on our website and others. We used just his last name in the headline because that is standard practice in American journalism to keep headlines shorter and thus more readable. It’s not standard practice to put Jr. in a headline unless necessary to distinguish someone from his father. In this case, that wasn’t necessary because few of our readers would think of his father.

The Palm Beach Post censors film title.

On October 29, 2010, The Palm Beach Post used subtle-censorship in the form of nine question marks, ?????????, to corrupt the title of the award-winning film, “Crackhead Jesus: The Movie”; a film written, produced and directed by Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr., as part of the 2010 Delray Beach Film Festival 72-Hour Movie-Making Competition.

To the credit of USA Today publications, though editors chose to stifle proliferation of the story of modern-art-gonzo-journalism on the internet, with a fake news headline, they did not censor, in print newspaper or on the internet, the contentious name of the title character, Crackhead Jesus, from the controversial, award-winning film, inspired by court documented events.

On the day Balloon Boy exposed fake U.S. news , for what it is worth, Victor-Hugo Vaca II was interviewed by a CBS New York reporter, for a segment on the CBS Evening News, questioning why police issued the artist a citation for displaying a bumper sticker on his BMW that proclaimed, “Crackhead Jesus is coming”.

Victor Hugo Bumper Sticker

As Victor-Hugo Vaca II headed to the Rat Dog concert afterwards, police and Secret Servicemen swarmed the artist and corralled him along with everyone on the block into a corner, behind barricades, for over an hour.

News crews surrounded Victor-Hugo Vaca II as he stood next to a man holding a cardboard sign that introduced him as RocOpera. The WPIX Newscaster at the scene, informed Victor-Hugo that his “1st Amendment story on CBS evening news never aired”. According to Wanda, a CBS New York producer, the fake news of Balloon Boy had pre-empted the canary-in-the-coal-mine of free speech in America documented in a Suffolk Times article by Erin Schultz titled, “Pulled Over In The Name Of Crackhead Jesus?“. The  newspaper article records the following:

Victor Hugo News

Traveling artist says Southold police officer profiled him.

A bumper sticker bearing the phrase “Crackhead Jesus is coming” got an author pulled over in Southold last month, the man told The Suffolk Times.

Victor-Hugo Vaca Jr., a multimedia artist formerly of Brooklyn who now calls the road home, said that Southold Town Police Officer Frank Lyburt violated his First Amendment rights by pulling him over Oct. 11, simply because the officer was offended by the bumper sticker on Mr. Vaca’s rear windshield.

“I wasn’t speeding and I knew there was nothing wrong with my car,” said Mr. Vaca, 39, noting that the sticker is a promotional tool for his graphic novel, “Crackhead Jesus.”

The bumper sticker in question, which Mr. Vaca described as a ‘promotional tool’ for his upcoming graphic novel ‘Crackhead Jesus.’

“[The officer] said he was doing me a favor by handing me that ticket, the same way someone knocks on your door on a Sunday morning, saying you’re wicked for not going to church.”

The wandering author, who claims to have traveled across the country raising awareness of issues not typically covered in mainstream media, said he was ticketed while driving to the Hampton International Film Festival to promote “Crackhead Jesus,” the story of a man who went to work one day high on crack and told his co-workers that they were his disciples.

“[The sticker] has nothing to do with Jesus Christ,” Mr. Vaca said. “It has to do with the modern devils out there.”

Southold Town Capt. Martin Flatley said the ticket issued to Mr. Vaca is a valid summons, adding that there is a section in vehicle and traffic law that prohibits “the placing of posters or stickers on windshields or rear windows of motor vehicles.”

“I believe Officer Lyburt might have stopped the driver for another violation but ended up writing him this summons,” Capt. Flatley said. “This section of law may not be written often, but it is a valid section. This is part of the officer’s discretion when performing a traffic stop.”

Mr. Vaca said Officer Lyburt appeared very upset with the bumper sticker after he scanned his Florida license.

“He came back to my car and asked me, ‘What’s the deal with the Crackhead Jesus sticker?'” Mr. Vaca said. “Here I am, a white guy in a BMW with all this fancy artwork in the back, and for the first time, I felt what it was like to be profiled.”

Mr. Vaca made an appearance in September at Rock the Harvest, a concert held in Southold to benefit The Retreat of East Hampton.

“So I’m in town to help raise money for battered women, and I get mistaken for a guy spitting in the face of God,” he said. “I went to Southold to do good work, and I leave getting punished.”

Mr. Vaca said he plans to drive back to Southold from Florida — where he is attending a music festival in Miami — to fight the ticket.

“So many people are apathetic — they’ll just pay the ticket and get it over with, but that’s the problem,” he said. “I’m not just going to pay this ticket. I’m going to take a chance to look deeper into this.”

HILLARY CLINTON DONALD TRUMP BARACK OBAMA

Reporters informed Victor-Hugo Vaca II that because President Barrack Hussein Obama is a fan of Rat Dog, everyone on the New York City Street next to the concert venue, were detained against their will, in zones, by Police and Secret Service agents, to protect President Obama, while he attended the first half of the Rat Dog concert.

Victor-Hugo Vaca II missed the first-half of the Rat Dog show because of President Obama. However, as a result of their mutual appreciation of Rat Dog and The Grateful Dead, this Modern Art Music Movement™ work of art was born.
